If a Patient does not agree with the Practice's decision not to offer free NHS Treatment

There are occasions when it may not be clear whether a patient should be offered free NHS treatment, either because it is difficult to decide whether the patient is an overseas visitor, or whether free treatment should be offered under one of the paragraphs (1), (2) and (3) described in Primary Care for the Overseas Visitor.

In each individual situation the practice will attempt to make as fair a judgement as possible.

However if the patient does not agree with the decision of the practice not to offer free NHS treatment, he or she may seek an overriding judgement from the Newbury and Community Primary Care Trust -telephone 01635 32500 (ask for the Patient Advice and Liaison Service).
