Information Technology

Information Technology plays a large part in the practice and we have been a "paper-light" practice since 1995 with all consultations being recorded on computer. In February 2002 we were the first practice in the country to install the Torex Premiere Synergy system.

In 2013 we changed over to a new clinical computer system - TPP SystmOne - through which we are able to provide a range of on-line services and we use the system's excellent reporting facilities to carry out a wide range of audits and statistics. Electronic patient registration links have been in place for many years, as have Pathology lab links. We have a daily phlebotomy service, with specimen delivery to Swindon and Reading.

The practice has digital ECG, 24-hour BP and spirometer machines with recordings linked directly into patient notes. We also use a full scanning system for incoming correspondence.

In 2006 the practice introduced a new service to directly monitor the warfarin levels of patients and this successful service, monitored via the excellent INRStar software system, continues to this day.
